A pointed statement, I know, but the fact is that while technology permeates nearly every aspect of an accountant’s work, the relationship between the two parties could be vastly improved.
In a recent interview with Accounting Influencers Roundtable co-founder Rob Brown, he asked me and numerous other noteworthy observers and downright influential souls in the accounting space about what software developers and service providers could do better to serve accountants.
This is a topic near and dear to me and is at the core of why I started my consultancy. I’ve believed, for some time now, that the relationship between vendors and the accounting community has been strained. Neither seems to see eye to eye or is truly aware of the other’s processes or objectives. At the same time, their relationship is essential to the advancement of the profession as a whole.
I could of course go on, and I have, but I wanted to share my portion of the Accounting Answers podcast that Rob painstakingly put together after speaking to 100+ of us from the U.S., Canada, the U.K., and Europe about the current state of accounting and where it could and needs to go.
Do enjoy, and check out other segments of the podcast, which Rob aired throughout March and into this month as well.
Thanks for sharing Seth – your contributions were insightful for all five of the questions we asked on our “5 Questions for the Accounting World” project.
