Xero Has Laundry List of Updates

To say that bookkeeping and finance platform Xero has been “busy” lately is a bit of an understatement, as between its recent NY roadshow and Xerocon mega-event in Brisbane, it unveiled a bevy of new features and partnerships.

As would be expected, Xero is leaning more heavily into AI but also has enhancements coming around analytics and payments. I have taken the liberty to summarize what they’ve been up to (and will be in the near future) below.

  • Xero announced the next evolution of its AI financial superagent JAX (Just Ask Xero) – built on Xero’s agentic platform. JAX automates routine tasks and workflows and delivers actionable insights — orchestrating multiple AI agents designed to help cut “busy work.”
  • Xero Partner Hub is a new “one-stop shop” for accountants and bookkeepers, now with all of Xero’s practice tools and data on one unified platform. It includes single navigation and a customizable homepage with AI-powered insights. For practices currently using Xero Practice Manager (XPM), beta access to the platform will be available in the coming months, with the full launch expected in early 2026.
  • Upcoming enhancements to Syft Analytics include improvements to forecasting, advanced reporting, and multi-entity consolidations. Xero partners now have access to Syft Analytics on eligible Xero business plans at no extra cost.
  • Analytics powered by Syft, the small business product embedded into Xero will offer even more actionable insights for small businesses and their advisors, including a business health score, AI-powered insights, and will incorporate external data, like website visits alongside financial information.
  • Xero will soon release progress payments to allow businesses to accept deposits or payments in stages, providing more flexibility and control. Additionally, a new online statement feature will let customers pay multiple outstanding invoices at once in a single transaction, reducing payment delays and simplifying reconciliation.
  • A new Xero homepage and redesigned navigation, built with customer feedback, is being rolled out. The new experience moves from a static dashboard to a customizable, insight-rich homepage. It features new and improved widgets that give a clear, at-a-glance view of business performance, highlight what needs attention, and allow users to take common actions directly from the page. This tailored view helps users stay focused on what matters most. The refreshed navigation makes it easier to find what you’re looking for and flow from one task to the next with simpler labels and logical groupings.
